The world's only festival dedicated to sound engineering in film

The "INtonations" Festival was created in 2014 by the masters of the Department of Sound Engineering at St. Petersburg State Institute of Cinema and Television to preserve the traditions of the Leningrad School and attract young people to the world of cinema. The centerpiece of the program is a student competition that showcases the multifaceted work of a sound engineer. Since 2016, the festival has become an international event, featuring not only competitive screenings but also master classes by renowned filmmakers.

Special Jury Prize named after Grigory Frank "For the identity of the sound solution"
Grigory Yakovlevich Frank is a sound engineer and Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. He is a member of the World Academy of Sciences, Arts, and Culture, and an academician of the World Academy of Sciences.
He is a winner of the Cannes Film Festival, a winner of the Golden Nymph Award (Monte Carlo), and a winner of numerous television festivals, including the Baltic States Television Festival "Silver Phonogram," the Scandinavian Countries Festival, and others. He was the founder and head of the sound engineering department, professor, and head of the sound engineering workshop at the St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television from 1992 to 2009.
He participated in the creation of over 3,000 television programs and television films at the Leningrad Television Studio. He is the author of 16 publications on various aspects and issues of sound engineering. He is a member of the Scandinavian Sound Engineers Association and a member of the All-German Professional Association of Sound Engineers.

Special Jury Prize named after Boris Andreev "For the expressiveness of the sound solution"
Boris Andreevich Andreev is a sound engineer and Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
He has worked on over 30 films for the Lenfilm Studios, including "The Woodpecker Doesn't Have a Headache" (directed by Dinara Asanova), "A Declaration of Love" (directed by Ilya Averbakh), "Faryatyev's Fantasies" (directed by Ilya Averbakh), "Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson: An Introduction" (with Asya Zvereva; directed by Igor Maslennikov), "Unfabricated" (with Eleonora Kazanskaya; directed by Sergei Ovcharov), and others.
He headed the sound engineering workshop at the St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television from 1994 to 2008.

Special Jury Prize named after Elena Sladkovskaya "For the beauty and sincerity of intonations"
Elena Vladimirovna Sladkovskaya is a sound engineer at the Oktyabrsky Concert Hall and one of the founders and artistic directors of the INtonations festival.
She co-directed the sound engineering workshop at the St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television with Aliakper Gasan-Zade from 1996 to 2018.

Special Jury Prize named after Aliakper Hasan-Zadeh "For the Search for the Absolute and Its Incarnation"
Hasan-Zade Aliakper Ali-Geydar Ogly is a sound engineer, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation, member of the Russian Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences, laureate of the Nika Award, and head of the sound engineering workshop at the St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television from 1992 to 2019. He has contributed to over 80 feature, animated, and documentary films, many of which have received high awards and acclaim from audiences.

REQUIREMENTS TO AUDIO-VISUAL WORKS TO BE SELECTED AND SUBMITTED
Video Format: Mpeg4
Audio Parameters: WAV, 24 bits, 48kHz, format 2.0 (stereo)
Films submitted to the INtonation Festival should be fully completed by January 30, 2026.
According to the rules of the Festival films submitted to the INtonation Festival participation must not contain propaganda of violence, national, racial and religious intolerance, contain obscene language, and information, the dissemination of which is prohibited by the legislation of the Russian Federation.
Subtitles are required to the Works in foreign languages (English/ Russian).
*Films that have passed the competitive selection might later be presented in video format: Mpeg4 and audio formats: stereo 2.0, digital 5.1.
